The Preparatory Course for Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education (Ordinary Level) Examination prepares students to take the GCE ‘O’ Level Examinations in 2012. City College intends to deliver the GCE ‘O’ Level curriculum to students using the International Baccalaureate (IB)1 framework, a move which is widely believed to be an educational first.
IB is a renowned international education programme whose framework focuses on how knowledge can be constructed and taught with the learner at the centre of the inquiry cycle. Students in this course will experience an integration of disciplines where emphasis is placed on the application of knowledge, the end result being the development of a holistic learner with a global mindset. This course is designed for students who have completed Secondary Two / Grade 8 or equivalent in home country.
