Effective, non-linear pedagogy
Research has shown that students have different ways of learning and receiving information. This is why City College has adopted a dynamic teaching pedagogy that transcends textbooks, employs a variety of teaching methodologies, and utilises technology in the classroom.

Our teachers are constantly seeking new ways of imparting knowledge to students in a relevant manner that demonstrates the importance of the theoretical knowledge, as well as its real-life application.

By bringing theories to life, students realise the value and importance of their academic knowledge. It also provides them with the opportunity to inculcate the methodology and disciplines developed from each subject into everyday living.

Experiential learning
City College students embark on various learning journeys that provide them with the freedom to stretch their capabilities and challenge their mindsets. These range from personal research projects, to the organisation of school events, participation in enrichment activities and more.

All these learning journeys are conducted in an encouraging environment where every student is encouraged to go beyond their limits. The result of these learning journeys transcends the academic scores; the character development and depth in cognitive abilities of our students that these journeys facilitate will be fundamental in facilitating their success later on in life.

Embracing students for life
Our teachers are the cornerstone of what we do, and the key reason that we have gone from an initial enrolment of 20 students in 2002 to an enrolment of over 1,000 students in 2011.

Teachers at City College do more than just teach. They lend a listening ear, provide sound advice and guidance on life when sought after, give encouragement, provide support …

… they are more than just teachers; they are both mentor and friend.

At City College, we pride ourselves on the lasting relationships that are formed both between our staff and students, and also between the students themselves. The tangible camaraderie is palpable in the atmosphere, and transcends our students’ time here in school.
