At City College, our vision of our students goes beyond academic success. Thus, beyond providing quality education, City College has in place various programmes and support services for its students.
All students partake in the orientation programme where they are introduced to their teachers, tour the premises, and engage in ice-breaker games to get to know their fellow classmates better. Throughout the academic year, other programmes and support services are provided.
Tertiary course guidance / Career guidance
City College conducts our own EduFair to provide tertiary course guidance to our students after the release of 'O' Level results. This enables them to be equipped with the right information to choose a suitable tertiary course. Graduates are also advised on their career path to understand the type of academic courses that they need to undergo to match their career requirement.
Counseling Services
Pre-Course counselling services are provided to students prior to their enrolment to understand the student’s standpoint and determine how City College is able to empower them in pursuing their goals and dreams.
Counseling services are also provided to students during their course of study at City College. Ms. Selena See, the school counsellor, has a Masters of Social Science in Counselling from the University of South Australia.
Mentorship Programme
Students are assigned to a mentor who will meet up with them throughout the course of their study at City College. The mentorship sessions are designed to provide an environment for students to ask their mentors on any matters pertaining to life in general.
Medical Insurance

Assistance to International Students
All international students are required by law to hold a student pass for the duration of their study in Singapore. The school assists international students in their application for student pass with the Immigration and Checkpoint Authority of Singapore.
If you require assistance from City College, this is the process you will need to undertake:
• When we receive your online application to study at City College, we will register you with ICA. Be sure to enter the following information accurately in your application: full name (as shown in your passport), nationality, birth date, gender and email address. Please note that you are not required to pay any tuition fees while applying for a student pass.
• ICA will then send us an acknowledgement slip, which we will in turn send to you for additional information required for your application. Once you have all the information ready, email admissions@citycollege.edu.sg to complete your application. This process takes at least four weeks. To get your student pass as soon as possible, please provide all required information promptly and thoroughly.
• If you are accepted by City College after your interview and entry test, we will inform you of ICA’s reply on the outcome of your application. If you are not accepted by City College, we will withdraw your application with ICA.
Things to note when filling the student pass application form:
• All information must be provided in English only. Chinese-speaking students may refer to the translated "Sample STP Application Form-Bilingual" for assistance.
• Incomplete applications will not be accepted, and ICA may reject any incomplete or inaccurate application after one month of processing. To avoid delays and complications, check your form thoroughly before submission. Be as specific as you can in fields that apply to you and enter a 'Nil' or 'N.A.' in fields that do not apply to you. You can save your partially filled form for completion at a later time, but do not click the "submit" button until all parts of the form have been filled.
International students are strictly not allowed to engage in any form of employment, paid or unpaid, or in any business, profession or occupation in Singapore during the validity of their student pass, unless they have the written consent of the Controller of Immigration. Violators will be prosecuted by law.
Applicants are reminded to refrain from submitting any forged supporting document. Under the Immigration Act, the penalty to the applicant for making a false statement, representation or declaration in order to obtain or attempt to obtain an entry or re-entry permit, pass or certificate for himself/herself or for any other person is a fine of up to S$4,000, or imprisonment for up to 12 months, or both. For more information on student pass matters, visit http://www.ica.gov.sg (under section "Approved Private Schools").
Students are also required to fulfil other pre-requisites, such as a mandatory health screening, pay a security bond, and so forth. City College provides information on all these procedures, and is able to guide students in meeting these requirements.
As City College is a non-residential private education institution, international students are required to find their own accommodation. The school is able to provide assistance on the options available to international students.
There are generally two types of accommodation available: home and hostel.
Information on renting a house or apartment
If you intend to rent a house or apartment, an independent real estate agent will represent the landlord and you (the tenant). On signing the tenancy agreement, an agent fee will be charged at half a month’s rent. If you rent a room, check that the rent covers utilities and maintenance. The rent may include the following, subject to the landlord's resources: bed with spring mattress and pillow, two-door wardrobe for single occupancy or three-door wardrobe for double occupancy, air-condition or fan, study table and chair, washing machine, iron and ironing board, and access to cooking facilities.
