I am delighted that City College has become a reputable name in the private education industry over the years as one whose teachers and staff are committed to bring quality education to the society. This has been proven by many of our students who have progressed and moved on to various tertiary institutions and careers. City College will not remain as it is as it seeks to progress and develop further in the areas of curriculum innovations, leadership and entrepreneurship.
Our learners today are different from learners in time past as the world becomes flat and possibly become even flatter. Today, learners are constantly bombarded with new and fresh innovations from sources everywhere outside of school. Schools today face the challenge of engaging these learners. In City College, we want our lessons to be relevant, challenging and engaging. More than feeding these young minds with knowledge and theory, we are committed to teach them to think, to master skills essential to life and apply what they learn in their daily life. We want to build a school with a strong emphasis on the right values. Students’ character are moulded and shaped as they go through the rigour and discipline of studying here. At City College, through various projects which involve teacher-and-student collaboration such as camps, entrepreneurship forums and carnivals, we encourage the spirit of entrepreneurship and want our students to learn the life skills of communication, creativity, teamwork and time management that are vital for the success of their future. With these in mind, we envision our graduates as people who will make opportunities out of challenges for the betterment of our society.
Last but not least, we certainly hope that our students will fully enjoy learning and maximise their time here at City College!
Yours Truly,
Koh Chye Soon
