Koh Chye Soon

Chye Soon obtained an Engineering degree from National University of Singapore and a Masters in Education specializing in Curriculum and Teaching from the National Institute of Education (Singapore). He oversees the school and ensures that City College provides high quality education. He also teaches Elementary and Additional Mathematics, seeking to inculcate in students an active spirit for learning that abides even upon graduation.

Dawn Fung graduated from the University of Kent (UK) with joint Honours in Drama and English, American and Postcolonial Literature. As an English teacher, she enjoys facilitating platforms for students to opine in creative ways, and to nurture independent writers and thinkers. Her interests are in folk music, editing for CreateLeVoyage.com and organising art based events.

Gloria Gerrard

Gloria graduated from the University of Melbourne with a major in Accounting. Prior to teaching in City College, she was a corporate tax consultant in an international accounting firm. Gloria has experience teaching tertiary students in Australia and was a private tutor to young children. She aims to spur the interests of young adults in the area of accounting and to appreciate its relevance beyond the textbook.

Jon Chan

Jon graduated from Lasalle College of the Arts with a Master of Arts. He has won several awards such as the JCCI Art Award. He hopes to help students in discovering their untapped creative potential and to gain a deeper understanding of the benefits of art making. He also spends time making paintings for exhibitions and drawing comics, a subject in which he also has experience teaching. His free time is spent reading and listening to lots of music.

As a Geography teacher at City College, she enjoys the challenges of school and mentoring students. Outside of school, her interests are in music and make up. Xiao Yee graduated from the National University of Singapore with joint honours in English and Literature. She has taught in both Junior College and government schools, and taken translation courses in NUS. Her interests are in second language acquisition of English, bilingualism and translation, gothic literature and literature relating to memory and identity. Kazuo Ishiguro and Julian Barnes are her favourite writers. She has just completed her Masters in Teaching English to Young Learners with the University of York.

Priya Anthony graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Business. After discovering a passion for influencing the lives of youth through Speech and Drama she decided to pursue a degree (Licientiate) in Speech & Drama from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. She has worked extensively with all ages sharing her joy for Speech & Drama. She loves to develop a sense of individuality and creative expression in her students.

Tan Meiling

Meiling graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a B.A. in English (Literature) and a B.S. in Psychology. She is also CELTA-certified by Cambridge University and TEFL-certified by ACTDEC. Meiling enjoys the technical aspects, as well as the intricate patterns, in the now-international and ever-changing English language. As an English teacher, she is privileged to be charged with the task of equipping students with the tools to analyse and produce language, and she hopes that through her lessons, she will also infuse in students her enthusiasm for the language’s quirks and subtleties. In her spare time, Meiling enjoys designing print and web media, reading and writing, going to the gym, and being in the company of friends and family.

Her interest is in social work, where she volunteers regularly as a teacher to the intellectually disabled. She has co-written the mathematics textbook for Malaysia Form 1 (2003).
