City College is a certified education institution which has attained both the Enhanced Registration Framework certification as well as EduTrust Provisional certification.

Enhanced Registration Framework (ERF)

The ERF certification is a legislative requirement by the Singapore government to ensure that Private Education Institutions (PEIs) provide quality education while safeguarding the interests of its students. In doing so, the PEI is expected to maintain high standards of corporate governance, instate an academic board to establish and regulate a proper education framework, and provide full disclosure to the regulatory council on a regular basis.

Singapore is home to over 1,200 private institutions, of which the top 36 were first accorded ERF certification in May. City College is amongst the first to have obtained ERF certification, and is registered until 2014.

EduTrust Certification

EduTrust is a voluntary certification scheme that requires the PEI to undergo rigorous examination of its management, policies and procedures. The six criteria for EduTrust certification are as follows:

- Management Commitment and Responsibilities
- Corporate Governance and Administration
- External Recruitment Agents
- Student Protection and Support Services
- Academic Process and Assessment of Students
- Quality Assurance, Monitoring & Results

To attain EduTrust certification, the PEI is expected to have in place a fee protection scheme and provide medical insurance in addition to the above. The stringent criteria ensures that only the high quality private education institutions in the industry are accorded EduTrust certification. As of November 2010, City College is one of 47 schools to have successfully attained the certification; it is one of 35 schools to have been awarded EduTrust Provisional status.
